Drugs Close to Home, co-hosted by Cliff and Freddie Harris, features the personal testimonies of people who hit rock-bottom as a result of drug use, but whose lives have become a miraculous story of victory and spiritual renewal through the incredible power of God. They also interview others who have touched their lives since they began the Drug Alternative Program in 1989, including world renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson, Take 6 member Joey Kibble, and Pastor Charles Bradford.

ABOUT THE HOST...

Cliff Harris was born into a conservative Christian, middle-class home, but spent 20 years worshipping drugs. His addiction began with marijuana, and progressed to cocaine and heroin, with his resulting criminal lifestyle engulfing the moral values of his childhood. He did two stints in the Colorado state penitentiary, with many trips to prison in between. Finally, in 1985, he realized he could not break the cycle of drug use by himself, and called on divine power to help him. His story of drug addiction and redemption is chronicled in his biography, Death Dance.

Freddie grew up in a dysfunctional home as her mother struggled to provide for her eight siblings after their father's death. From a foundation of emotional void and tension, Freddie navigated her life through failed marriages and the resulting damaged relationships with her three children. Realizing her need to forge an intimate bond with God, she spent one year “falling in love with Him,” excluding all romantic relationships from her life. Her documented conversations with God during this time are recorded in her book, Yours, Truly. Toward the end of her year focused on God, a friend at church introduced her to Clifford Harris, whom she married in 1985.

Together, Cliff and Freddie co-founded and currently direct the Drug Alternative Program, a drug and alcohol recovery facility for adult men located in Grand Terrace, California.
