ABOUT THE HOSTS...
Carla Gober, PhD, MS, MPH - Dr. Gober is Director of the
Center for Spiritual Life & Wholeness at Loma Linda University
Adventist Health Sciences Center, where she is an Assistant
Professor of Relational Studies in the School of Religion at Loma
Linda University. She received her undergraduate education in
nursing and religious studies from Southern Adventist University,
two master’s degrees from Loma Linda University in public health
education and marriage and family studies, and a doctor of
philosophy degree in religious studies from Emory University. In her
free time Dr. Gober enjoys several recreational activities,
including biking, woodworking, and spending time in her orchard.
Julius Nam, PhD – Dr. Julius Nam is an associate professor at
the School of Religion at Loma Linda University. Dr. Nam brings with
him a passion for causes related to social equalities and their
impact on the church. Dr. Nam and his wife Iris have two teenage
boys, Sherwin and Ansel. In his free time Dr. Nam enjoys blogging,
watching film, and praying for the success of the Chicago Bears.
Leigh Aveling, DMin, LMFT - Dr. Aveling is a chaplain at the
Loma Linda University Medical Center and associate professor of
religious studies at the LLU School of Religion. He has been a
chaplain at LLUMC for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience
in counseling areas of marriage and family therapy, divorce and
grief therapy, and pastoral care. Dr. Aveling and his wife Tiffany
have four young boys whom they home school. In his free time Dr.
Aveling and his wife also raise Australian Labradoodles.
Roy Branson, PhD - Dr.
Branson is the Associate Dean of the School of Religion at Loma
Linda University. Raised within an Adventist minister’s home in
Cairo, Egypt, Beirut, Lebanon, and New York City, he graduated from
Atlantic Union College before receiving his master’s in religion
from Andrews University and in English from the University of
Chicago, and a PhD in religious ethics from Harvard University. A
published author, he is the founder of the Adventist journal
Spectrum, the Center for Law and Public Policy at Columbia Union
College, and the ethics program at the Seventh-day Adventist
Theological Seminary at Andrews University.

Jeremy Hubbard –Jeremy Hubbard is Manager of the Center for
Spiritual Life & Wholeness at Loma Linda University Adventist Health
Sciences Center. Jeremy graduated from Pacific Union College with a
bachelor’s in religious studies with an emphasis in philosophy and
ethics and business administration. Jeremy joined the Center in 2007
and has since worked with Dr. Gober as the show’s production
associate by arranging the show’s topics and guests. In his free
time Jeremy enjoys watching and playing several sports, and
increasing his ever-growing enthusiasm for automobiles.
