Volunteer Policy and Code of Conduct

By joining the Loma Linda Broadcasting Network family as a volunteer, you are agreeing to reflect Christ’s example in your service to others. Being part of the ministry of LLBN is a privilege, and along with that privilege comes a responsibility to all members and donors who support this ministry, the others who work alongside you and the guests and viewers that we all come in contact with. 

Qualifications: 

Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Ages 14 and up to 16 must have a parent or legal guardian present. The volunteer must enjoy working with all types of people. They should be self-motivated, mature, sensitive, dependable, a team player, reliable and empowering others in their duties and are seeking an authentic relationship with Jesus. 

Requirements: 

Volunteers must complete an application form that can be downloaded at www.LLBN.tv and printed so you can fill it out. After filling it out, scan it and send it to Evie at volunteer@llbn.tv. Volunteers under 18 years old must have a parent or legal guardian consent on the Volunteer Application form. 

Harmony and Teamwork: 

The goal for LLBN is to have volunteers that are willing to grow to build a positive up lifting Christ-like environment. Do the best to resolve differences and conflicts with others. If necessary enlist the assistance of your team leader or volunteer manager if initially unable to resolve on a personal level. Accept feedback with grace use appropriate channels of feedback without gossiping or spreading dissent among colleagues and or other volunteers. 

Time Commitment and Scheduling: 

It is required that all volunteers sign in and out for each day’s duties in the Volunteer Sign in Book located in the lobby area. There are no required hours, however once you have agreed to volunteer for a specific time LLBN will count on you to fill that obligation. You must be punctual or notify the team leaders as soon as possible if you are going to be late or if you cannot make it. It is important that volunteers pay careful attention to instructions and perform all duties to their best ability, accuracy, thoroughness and effectiveness. 

Respect for Others:

There are guests, volunteers and paid staff with in the LLBN organization. Every individual should be treated as a child of God, with dignity and respect and without any form of intimidation, exploitation and harassment including sexual harassment (harassment refers to behavior and contact that is not welcome, that is personally offensive, lowers moral and therefore, interferes with work effectiveness) if a volunteer experiences or witnesses any form of intimidation, exploitation or harassment, this should be reported immediately to the LLBN Volunteer Manager or the Administration. No profane or suggestive language, screaming, yelling and cursing will be tolerated. LLBN encourages a Christ-like attitude be displayed at all times. 

 

Dress Protocol: 

LLBN volunteers are representative of Loma Linda Broadcasting Network. Your appearance will reflect your respect for our Savior and the LLBN image to others around you. A professional image is required while on duty. Shorts, tank tops, spaghetti straps or strapless attire, plunging necklines, flip flop sandals, necklaces, earrings below the earlobe, bracelets to name a few examples are not acceptable. 

Use of Equipment and Property: 

Renting or borrowing of equipment for personal use is not permitted. Equipment is very costly and is entrusted with careful use with the volunteers. All LLBN computer, internet access, web browsing is restricted to work purposes only and not for personal business or private use. Any exceptions requires permission from LLBN Administration 

Work Place Safety: 

LLBN sees safety as an important factor for all persons. Volunteers should conduct themselves in a way that promotes safety for themselves and others. Volunteers should never put themselves or others into s situation that make them fearful or uncomfortable. At any time you are uncomfortable or fearful of an unsafe environment seek out your team leader. 

Smoking, Alcohol and Drug free facilities: 

LLBN has a strict policy against the possession and use of or distribution of a controlled substance, alcohol, use of tobacco or vaping while on its property. 

Volunteer injuries: 

Any personal injury that occurs while volunteering for LLBN should immediately be reported to the team leader. 

Compliance: 

Failure to comply with this Policy and Code of Conduct may result in verbal or written discipline and up to termination of volunteer privileges. 

 

Volunteer Feedback: 

LLBN encourages volunteers to make suggestions, voice concerns and give ideas how LLBN fulfills its mission to the community. Contact the Volunteer Manager or your team leader.
